Full Body Release Stretch

Step One

The Full Body Release is a great stretch for everyone and unique to the FlexiBelt. To begin the Full Body Release using the FlexiBelt, you must open the adjustable loop to it’s full opening so you have a big closed loop.

Step Two

Sitting on a comfortable surface (on which you can lie down soon), place the FlexiBelt behind your upper back and under your arms with the buckle positioned so that the end of the fixed loop is closer to you than the buckle. Holding the front half of the loop in front of you, lie down on your back with your hips and knees bent and your feet resting on the floor.

Step Three

Hold the the FlexiBelt out in front of you with the buckle towards the right with the fixed loop lower than the buckle.

Step Four

Inhale slowly and deeply. Now put your right foot inside the belt and slowly exhale as you straighten your right knee to begin releasing the hamstrings and calf muscle behind the right thigh, knee, and calf.

Step Five

Adjust the length of the belt by pulling down on the fixed loop, through the buckle, so that the FlexiBelt holds your right leg straight and fully supported. Inhale deeply and then exhale slowly to fully release the hamstrings and calf muscles.

Step Six

Allow the belt to hold your right knee straight. Inhale slowly and deeply and then slowly exhale as you gently slide your left foot away from your body along the floor to fully straighten your knee and allow your left leg to rest supported on the floor. This releases the muscles in the front of your left hip and behind your left knee. Inhale and exhale slowly and gently and enjoy and relax into this newfound length in your body.

Don't Stop There!

On your next exhalation, slowly raise both arms up and over your head so as to allow your arms to relax down towards the floor. Inhale slowly and deeply and then exhaling in a relaxed manner, enjoy the release of tension in your shoulders and the Latissimus dorsi (“Lats”) all the way into your lower back. Inhale slowly and deeply and then gently and slowly exhale to release the tension in your body and enjoy the newfound length through your whole body – truly a full body release.

Now it’s time to enjoy this same release on the other side.

Slowly lower your arms so that your hands can take control of the FlexiBelt. Inhale and as you exhale slowly slide your left foot along the floor, towards your buttock. When the left knee is comfortably bent, inhale and slowly exhale as you bend your left hip so your knee moves towards your chest. Inhale and exhale slowly as you straighten your left knee to match your right knee and have the left foot replace the right foot in the belt. Lower your right foot to the floor. Make any adjustments to the FlexiBelt length to allow the left leg to be comfortably supported by the belt so that the FlexiBelt holds your left leg straight and fully supported. Inhale deeply and then exhale to fully release the hamstrings and calf muscles.
